Daniel Pinder, editor-in-chief of Get German Football News, has exclusively told Football FanCast that Taiwo Awoniyi would score goals at Celtic, providing he has the right players around him.

Back in January, Old Firm rivals Celtic and Rangers were ready to battle it out for the young striker, who’s currently on loan at Union Berlin from Liverpool.

Despite a slow start to his loan spell in the German capital, Awoniyi has scored five times and added three assists in 19 Bundesliga appearances, with those five coming across a seven-game period, including the opener in the victory over Borussia Dortmund.

A muscle problem has kept the Nigerian out of Union Berlin’s last 10 matches, but he’s still made a significant impact during his second loan spell in Germany having spent last season at Mainz.

And Pinder told Football FanCast that Awoniyi would be a good addition for the Hoops, should they lose Odsonne Edouard this summer, with the Frenchman reportedly wanting out.

“I haven’t seen much of Edouard play, but looking at his stats, he scores plenty of goals, and I think Awoniyi could get the goals, but he needs the right players around him as he has at Union Berlin this season.”

This could prove a shrewd piece of business for Celtic, but they’ll need a far bigger name to please the fanbase providing Edouard departs this summer.

The Frenchman has been their talisman for the previous four seasons, and if the Hoops want to bridge the gap to Rangers next term, an established striker on top of Awoniyi is required.

Vagner, 27 anos, chegou ao Palmeiras em janeiro após chamar a atenção a serviço de Ituano e Avaí. Ele atuou em três partidas consecutivas assim que Fernando Prass foi convocado para a Olimpíada, mas não teve boas atuações diante de Atlético-MG, Botafogo e, sobretudo, Chapecoense. Foi aí que Jailson assumiu a condição de titular e não largou mais. Vagner jogou só mais uma partida, contra o Botafogo-PB, quando Cuca poupou o time todo.

Vinicius Silvestre, por sua vez, ainda não tem experiência profissional. O goleiro de 22 anos tem se destacado nos treinos e, por isso, passou a ficar no banco em algumas partidas, inclusive a última, contra o Sport. Neste mesmo dia, Cuca disse que ouviria o preparador de goleiros Oscar Rodríguez antes de tomar a decisão, mas deu a entender nesta sexta que fez uma escolha mais pessoal:

– Não foi bem assim (escolheu quem o preparador indicou). Mas é lógico que o Oscar trabalha com os goleiros, tem obrigação de me passar as coisas e logicamente tenho que ouvir.

Há outras duas dúvidas na escalação. Fabiano pode dar lugar ao volante Thiago Santos para que a marcação no meio de campo seja reforçada, o que faria Jean voltar à lateral direita. No ataque, Barrios é favorito para jogar ao lado de Gabriel Jesus e Dudu, mas Allione também tem chance.

– O Barrios é a nossa referência. Não participou do treino em virtude de um probleminha. Ele jogando, o Gabriel vai para o lado. Ele não jogando, entra o Allione. Vamos esperar o Barrios. Tirando isso, a única dúvida é o Thiago Santos ou o Fabiano, com Jean na lateral ou de volante.

Com isso, o provável Palmeiras tem Vinicius Silvestre (Vagner), Jean, Mina, Vitor Hugo e Zé Roberto; Thiago Santos (Fabiano), Tchê Tchê e Moisés; Dudu, Gabriel Jesus e Barrios (Allione).

وكتب أحمد سليمان عبر حسابه الرسمي بموقع التواصل الاجتماعي “تويتر”: “إلى الدولة المصرية، اعرفوا إن الإرهاب الفكري أقوى وأشد من الإرهاب البدني.. للقهر حدود”.

يذكر أن، مرتضى منصور استطاع أن يفوز بمقعد رئيس الزمالك للمرة الثالثة على التوالي.

Mark Douglas has claimed that Newcastle United could sign Jetro Willems for free in the summer transfer window.

Writing in his latest piece for The Chronicle, the journalist has claimed that the Magpies will get another chance to sign the former fans’ favourite, as many members of the Toon Army begged for him to be signed on a permanent deal after his loan spell in the northeast last season. His contract at Eintracht Frankfurt expires at the end of June, making him available on a free transfer thereafter.

Willems is apparently still keen on a reunion with the Tyneside club, but he also has interest from Panathinaikos. The Netherlands international remains a close friend to Allan Saint-Maximin, which could help the Magpies’ chances of signing him up.

Newcastle should bring Willems back

Given the strong relationship that he developed with the supporters, Newcastle should bring Willems back, especially if it means that they would not have to pay a transfer fee to do so.

The 27-year-old did well during his time in the Premier League, winning no fewer than 5.1 of his duels per match, in addition to averaging two clearances, 1.9 tackles and 1.1 successful dribbles per game (Sofascore).

خاطب كارلو أنشيلوتي وسائل الإعلام بعد فوز ريال مدريد على ديبورتيفو ألافيس بثلاثية نظيفة في سانتياجو برنابيو، وأدرك الإيطالي أن فريقه بحاجة إلى هذه المباراة بعد الخسارة من باريس سان جيرمان بدوري أبطال أوروبا.

وبأهداف ماركو أسينسيو وفينيسيوس جونيور وكريم بنزيما، فاز ريال مدريد على ألافيس في إطار مباريات الليجا، بعد هزيمة من باريس سان جيرمان بهدف دون رد في ذهاب دور الـ 16 لدوري الأبطال.

وقال أنشيلوتي في تصريحات نشرتها صحيفة “آس” الإسبانية: “كنا بحاجة إلى هذه المباراة، كان الشوط الأول أكثر صعوبة، لكن كان لدينا التزام، لقد افتقروا إلى بعض الجودة في الثلث الأخير وفي الشوط الثاني تداركوا ذلك، وخاصة المهاجمين الثلاثة”.

وأضاف بشأن أداء الشوط الثاني: “لقد تحدثنا عن ذلك هذا الأسبوع، من الصعب علينا الدخول بالشدة اللازمة، كان هناك ضعف لدينا، المباراة الوحيدة التي بدأناها بشكل جيد كانت في بلباو في ديسمبر، المنافسون يضغطون في البداية ونشعر بتحسن في الشوط الثاني”.

وتابع معلقًا على صافرات استهجان جماهير ريال مدريد: “الجمهور يقيم المباراة التي نقوم بها، لم تعجبه المباراة في الشوط الأول وقد أحبوها في الشوط الثاني، لم يكن أحد سعيدًا، لا أحد منا يحب ما كان يُرى، كنا بحاجة إلى بذل المزيد من الجهد وقد فعلنا ذلك”.

وبشأن فينيسيوس جونيور وهدفه، أفاد الإيطالي: “عندما يسجل المهاجمون فهذه علامة جيدة، من المهم أن تسجل مع الثلاثة، هذه المباراة تساعدنا على الاستعداد بشكل أفضل للمباريات التالية”.

كانت ركلة الجزاء التي سددها بنزيما مهمة، وأوضح أنشيلوتي: “طبيعي، عندما تعود من الإصابة لا يكون لديك إيقاع، المهم هو أنك سجلت ولعبت بشكل جيد في الشوط الثاني مثل الآخرين”.

Liam Kennedy has slammed the displays of Jonjo Shelvey for Newcastle United so far in the 2020/21 term.

Writing in his latest piece for The Shields Gazette, the journalist claimed that the former Liverpool and Swansea City player ‘needs to do more’ and added that he ‘chooses not to up those levels’ with reference to his overall work ethic on the pitch.

Kennedy went on to claim that Shelvey is ‘no world beater’ and ‘lacks a yard or five of pace and mobility’, adding that he is ‘not a worthy carrier of the armband’ and ‘not a player who leads by example’.

Shelvey underwhelming for Newcastle

There is no doubt that very much like the St. James’ Park faithful’s season so far, Shelvey has been pretty underwhelming.

The central midfield player ranks relatively low among his teammates in terms of tackles (1.2), interceptions (1.1) and clearances (1.3) per match in the Premier League so far (Whoscored), suggesting that he needs to improve on the defensive side of his game.

He has also managed a mere one goal and two assists in 26 appearances in total in the top flight so far, and considering that Joe Willock has scored four from midfield already having only joined in the January transfer window on loan from Arsenal (Whoscored), Shelvey certainly needs to be having a greater impact in at least one of attacking or defending – he is ineffective on both sides of the ball at the moment.

Nonetheless, the 29-year-old Englishman will be hoping for a much stronger finish to the campaign from a personal point of view, but fans will likely be hoping he isn’t afforded the chance and Willock comes in as a sure-fire starter.
